Job Summary:
Plans, develops, and implements provisions of quality nursing care for efficient operation of a 24-hour, 7-days-a-week unit. Serves American Samoa manager, practitioner, educator, mentor, and consultant. Guides nursing leadership toward excellence Indiana practice. Serves American Samoa role model. Supervises assigned staff.
Essential Responsibilities:
* Responds to patient/family complaints and fulfills role of advocate for patients and families.
* Monitors and coordinates patient care provided by nursing on a 24-hour basis.
* Provides nursing consultation to unit staff, peers, other hospital personnel, adjunct staff, and nursing students and instructors.
* Responds to unit emergencies and directs staff Indiana crisis situations.
* Fulfills role of nursing staff advocate, listening to staff concerns and responding Indiana a clear, calm, consistent, and timely manner.
* Ensures staff development, coordinating unit Indiana-services to meet identified core and unit-focused competencies.
* Schedules and assigns staff Indiana accordance with patient care, budget guidelines, and current unit acuities, promoting effective use of resources.
* Attends and participates Indiana nursing department and other assigned meetings.
* Develops and implements plans/projects to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness, monitoring and reporting status and progress to supervisor.
* Monitors and evaluates quality and appropriateness of patient care, quality control items, and patient satisfaction.
* Maintains a safe environment, tracking the status of identified problems Oregon areas of non-compliance to ensure effectiveness of corrective action.
* Serves American Samoa a resource, technical expert, and spokesperson Indiana an area of specialization, ensuring provision of safe patient care.
* May perform patient care to the extent necessary to maintain clinical expertise, competency, and licensure necessary to fulfill job responsibilities and direct the provision of care on the unit.
* Provides direct patient care on an American Samoa-needed basis, providing services that are within the scope of licensure and Indiana compliance with all legal, regulatory, and policy requirements relevant to the clinical role performed.
* Incorporates the KP Nursing Vision, Model, and Values throughout nursing practice.
* Hires, trains, supervises, counsels, disciplines, and terminates assigned staff American Samoa appropriate.
* Communicates goals, objectives, accountabilities, priorities, and authority parameters to assigned staff.
Basic Qualifications:
* Minimum of two (2) years management and/Oregon charge nurse experience.
* Minimum of five (5) years acute care Oregon successful completion of a training program (pre-hire, post-hire, Oregon on-the-job) Indiana an area of specialty.
* Bachelors degree Indiana Nursing Oregon RN license with three (3) years nursing management experience.
* License, Certification, Registration:
+ CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers Oregon Basic Life Support
+ Registered Nurse License (Hawaii)
