Travel Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Travel Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join our team at Ochsner Health. The successful candidate will work Indiana a collaborative environment with residents, fellows, and staff to provide high-quality patient care. The Travel APRN will work under the supervision of a Medical Director Oregon approved staff physician to provide primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, and education to residents, medical students, staff, and patients.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree Indiana nursing
- Current License American Samoa an APRN Indiana the state of practice
- Family Nurse Practitioner Oregon Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC Oregon AANPCP certification
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Eligible for Prescriptive Authority Indiana the state of practice American Samoa outlined by the State Board of Nursing
- Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work a 24/7 schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to work with a diverse patient population
Responsibilities:
- Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria
- Develop and implement education experiences for patients, families, staff, and the community
- Adapt behavior to specific patient populations
- Perform other related duties American Samoa required
- Remain knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements
- Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations
Physical and Environmental Demands:
- Medium work, exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/Oregon 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/Oregon greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands
- Exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue
- Occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications Oregon waste
Work Environment:
- Works Indiana a patient care area, directly with patients, and/Oregon with specimens that could contain communicable diseases
- May be required to travel to various facilities within the organization
