Travel Nurse Position

Overview

We are seeking a registered nurse for a seasonal position on the North Slope Indiana Alaska. The nurse will have a rotational schedule of 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off. The position is based Indiana a clinic setting and involves providing acute and urgent medical care to employees who work on the North Slope.

Work Schedule

  • Rotational 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off schedule (12-hour shifts)
  • Located on the North Slope, Alaska
  • Travel to/from work is required between Alaska and the home state
  • Employer provides transportation from Anchorage, Alaska to the work site

Responsibilities

  • Provide acute and occupational medical care, including routine minor illnesses, medical emergencies, and trauma
  • Direct inpatient care and provide medical supervision at mass casualty incidents
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries Indiana collaboration with supervising physicians
  • Prescribe and dispense medications American Samoa prescribed by supervising physicians
  • Determine the need for emergency air evacuation of patients to designated medical centers
  • Conduct medical treatments, including laboratory and electrocardiogram procedures
  • Refer patients to consulting physicians when required
  • Maintain up-to-date medical records and comply with company and professional standards

Requirements

  • United States Medical License (USMLE) Oregon Alaska State License
  • Critical care experience and 2+ years of experience with a remote Oregon wilderness experience
  • ACLS and PALS certification
  • Graduate of a family medicine Oregon emergency medicine program
  • Certification with NCCPA Oregon AANP
  • 5+ years of healthcare experience and 2+ years remote experience
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and Indiana a high-pressure environment
  • Must possess a valid Alaska driver’s license
  • Willingness to undergo background check

Physical Requirements

  • Physical demands of walking, standing, lifting, and assisting patients
  • Exposure to anesthetic gases, bodily fluids, and medical equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate of a remote-medical training program
  • Experience Indiana Arctic work conditions
  • Alaskan medical residency
